One to One Counselling
Our community support program helps pregnant and parenting youth make positive decisions for themselves and their child. We connect youth to community resources, while our counsellors address issues that impact the quality of life for their family, mainly themselves and their child. All counselling is free.
Growing as Parents
G.A.P. is a free parenting and life skills program that is offered in 12 week sessions, three times a year in various locations. The program is open to vulnerable parents in Peel Region who have children between 0-6 years old. For two hours once a week, a trained facilitator leads sessions on topics ranging from healthy relationships to how to handle temper tantrums. Occasionally guest speakers will be brought in to share their expertise on a topic. Child-minding, light snack and bus tickets are provided.
Supper Connection
Vita Supper Connection is a free 12-week program that is available to parents in Peel Region with children up to 6 years old. Have fun meeting other parents while participating in our parenting and life skills programming, and enjoy a free meal!
Nobody’s Perfect
A facilitated parenting program for parents of children from birth to 6 years old. The program is designed to meet the needs of parents who are single, socially or geographically isolated, young, or who have low income or limited formal education. Sessions are based on what parents want to learn about, not step by step from a book. This program provides parents with a safe place to meet others with children of the same age and with whom they share interests and concerns.
Care Closet
Being a new mother can be overwhelming, especially when you’re young. First time parents have a lot to learn, including knowing what supplies and equipment are needed to properly care for an infant. Registered clients of Vita Centre have access to our Care Closet to give them tangible supplies that a new baby needs.
Navigator
The role of the Navigator helps connect our clients to health services and supports and to help increase their confidence in navigating the health care system.
